I too have a love/hate relationship with Mother’s Day. I too believe less in my messy parenting skills and more in the divine luck of having great kids to love and keep safe. I congratulate myself not on raising wonderful people, but on NOT stifling them. I don’t know if that resonates with you- but I appreciate your writing.
I love the way you put that! Absolutely! I just do my best not to do things that will hold them back or make them doubt themselves. The rest of it just comes from them. Is that a parenting philosophy already? Or do we need to write a book? :)

In modern parlance, it might be called Lighthouse Parenting? But my inspiration came from Khalil Gibran’s poem “On Children” written before 1931. ❤️❤️
